Hot Spot and the DRS is again the centre centre of attention after KP fires up
KEVIN Pietersen has described as "hurtful lies" claims that he has attempted to beat Hot Spot by putting silicon on his bat edges.
England's most dangerous batsman is furious that a Channel Nine television report has made the suggestion to explain why hotspot did not show a mark on his bat when Pietersen was given out caught behind on the last day of the third Test at Old Trafford.
"I am never afraid of getting out! If I nick it, I'll walk.. To suggest I cheat by covering my bat with silicon infuriates me," Pietersen tweeted.

"Horrible journalism yet again! My name brought up in hotspot crisis suggesting I use silicon to prevent nicks showing! Such hurtful lies.
"How stupid would I be to try & hide a nick when it could save me on an LBW appeal, like in 1st innings where hotspot showed I nicked it.."
England fast bowler Graham Onions has strongly denied that he or any of his team mates have tried to cheat hotspot.
Pietersen's second-innings dismissal is reportedly in the spotlight.
ALLEGATIONS FURTHER SOUR ASHES SERIES
"It's crazy. It just doesn't sound right and it isn't right. None of the England lads would use anything on their bats, " Onions said.
"Kevin (Pietersen) is a fair guy and the accusations are wrong. That's all I can say."
Michael Clarke was bemused by the allegations and insisted not Australia player attempted to cheat hotspot.
The Australian captain claimed he has never heard a conversation involving players, bat manufactures, or anyone else which addressed trying to beat hot spot in any way.

"I find the accusation quite funny," Clarke said before training yesterday.
"I can't talk for everybody but if it is the case we are talking about cheating, I tell you there is not one person in the Australian changerooms who is a cheat.
"That's not the way we play cricket.
