TWITTER has said it will remove images and videos of dead people upon request of family members following the fake Robin Williams image and James Foley's beheading.
PCWorld reports that the social media site made the decision a week after Williams's daughter, Zelda, said she would quit Twitter after receiving gruesome fake images of him from online trolls.
Calls have also come on Twitter for people not to share the ISIS video purportedly showing journalist James Foley being beheaded.

"In order to respect the wishes of loved ones, Twitter will remove imagery of deceased individuals in certain circumstances," Twitter spokesman Nu Wexler said.
"When reviewing such media removal requests, Twitter considers public interest factors such as the newsworthiness of the content and may not be able to honour every request."
However loved ones will have to provide documents including a death certificate and government-issued identification.
Family members or other authorised people can request the removal of photos or video of deceased people on Twitter "from when critical injury occurs to the moments before or after death," it said.
Twitter now has 271 million active monthly users.
